Online Purchasing

Select Items

While you are reviewing our categories of products, just click on Add To Basket whenever you'd like to put an item into your shopping basket. Immediately after that click, your shopping basket will display with your new selection at the top of the list. From there, you can proceed to checkout or continue shopping.

Once you've signed on, all of your items will remain in your shopping basket until you explicitly remove them or purchase them.

Review Shopping Basket Contents

Once you have completed your shopping expedition, return to your shopping basket to check each item's shipping address destination and quantity. Please note that if you make any changes to an item's shipping address or quantity, you must click on the corresponding UPDATE button; otherwise your revision will not be registered by our system.

Proceed to Checkout

When you are satisfied that all of the information in your shopping basket (item, quantity, shipping address) is correct, please click on Checkout. The next page to display will be the Order Payment page.

Purchasing

Order Payment

Here you'll see all the charges including shipping charges as they apply to each shipping address to which you are sending items. All charges will be billed to the credit card that you use to purchase our products.

Carefully review the information on this page as it's another opportunity to make sure we have your order right. If you decide that you are not yet ready to purchase, you can click on any link (except Cancel Order) and still retain your shopping basket's worth of goods. Clicking on Cancel Order removes all items from the shopping basket. -- Once sure that we have your order as you want it, you will be required to fill in your credit card name, number, and expiration date. From there, click Purchase to complete your order.

Confirming/Receiving

Receive Confirmation email

Once your order has been received by VermontSpecialtyFoods.com, we will send you a confirmation email telling you so. The email will include your order number(s) and all items and their quantities.

Receive Credit Card Authorization/Shipment email

Once your credit card has been authorized offline, we will immediately ship your items and send you an email telling you so. Again, the email will include your order number(s) and all items and their quantities.

Online Security

You can count on VermontSpecialtyFoods.com being a secure site for web commerce. Because we use the latest secure sockets layer (SSL) technology, your Sign On ID, password, and credit card information is always transferred to and from your browser to our site in 128 bit encrypted form.

You can tell that you are in encrypted mode by noticing when the address window of your browser shifts to using "https://", or by checking (if you use MS Internet Explorer) for the presence of a small lock symbol at the bottom right corner of your browser frame, or (if you use Netscape) at the bottom left corner of your browser. Clicking on that lock symbol will give you the chance to obtain more information about the security certificate installed at VermontSpecialtyFoods.com.

What this all means is that you should be confident that we have taken every precaution possible to make your online shopping experience a safe and enjoyable experience.

Privacy

We respect your right to privacy. We don't like junk mail any more than you do. Any information that we collect from you is used only for the purpose of processing your orders. We will not share your information with anyone or use it in any other way.

Shipping Services and Costs

We've found that UPS does a good job at a good price. Plus, they're right next door to our kitchen! Unless you instruct us otherwise, you (or whomever you're shipping to) should receive your order within a week or two. However, no one has ever accused us of being the sharpest tacks on the block. Sometimes we run out of stock, and we're not able to ship for a few weeks. We'll let you know if there is a hold-up for any reason, and advise you of the estimated delay time so that you can decide how you want to proceed from there. All shipment will be sent via regular UPS ground service unless you tell us otherwise. Charges for regular ground service within the contiguous 48 states are as follows.

Returns/Refund Policy

We hope everyone who tastes our food loves what they're eating. That's why we're in business! If, for whatever reason, you are dissatisfied with a product that we ship, please let us know. While we can't accept returns (the cost of shipping it back would be prohibitive, and there's nothing we can do with it once it's been opened anyway), we will be happy to ship you a replacement for the problem item free, or ship another comparably priced item in its place for free, or refund the cost of the problem item.
